Join APABA as we host a virtual Lunch & Learn featuring ALIGHT (Alliance to Lead Impact in Global Human Trafficking).  ALIGHT is a Colorado-based nonprofit with a mission to unlock a fresh start for survivors of human trafficking. ALIGHT (https://alightnet.org/) is one of the few organizations in the U.S. that provides inclusive human trafficking-specific legal services and is a co-founder of the National Survivor Law Collective. This program will discuss trafficking with a focus on vulnerabilities, cultural and trauma-informed considerations and how attorneys can help with the legal needs of survivors.

A Zoom link will be sent to you upon registration.

Speakers:

Marianna Kosharovsky is the Executive Director of ALIGHT. Her expertise is rooted in over 12 years of experience in human trafficking, law and collaboration in the U.S. and Eastern Europe/Russia. She is a contributing author of the American Bar Association book Lawyers as Changemakers (2016). Ms. Kosharovsky holds a law degree from N.Y.U. Law School.

She has been recognized by Colorado Super Lawyers in the area of insurance coverage since 2019 and was awarded the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association’s Consumer Protection Award in 2021.  Ms. Minamizono is a board member of the Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center and has provided pro-bono legal services to human trafficking survivors through her involvement with ALIGHT since 2019.
